Unitas of Jamaica is a registered nonprofit and charitable organization that delivers coordinated, people centered services aimed at strengthening communities, enhancing resilience, and advancing peace and sustainable development throughout Jamaica. In collaboration with churches, schools, nonprofit organizations, civil society partners, and local communities, Unitas of Jamaica addresses immediate humanitarian needs while supporting inclusive, long-term social and economic transformation.

Community Development & Capacity Building

We support communities to organize, plan, and lead their own development. Our programs focus on strengthening local leadership, encouraging collective action, and building sustainable systems that improve livelihoods and social cohesion.

Disaster Preparedness, Response & Recovery Unitas of Jamaica coordinates humanitarian responses to natural disasters, with a focus on dignity, inclusion, and recovery. We work closely with church networks and community partners to reach vulnerable populations quickly and effectively. Services include: Emergency relief coordination and distribution Post-disaster damage assessments Disaster risk reduction and preparedness training by email within 24 hours.

Peacebuilding & Social Cohesion

We promote peaceful coexistence through education, dialogue, and community-based initiatives. Our peacebuilding work strengthens relationships, encourages non-violent conflict resolution, and supports safe spaces for learning and cooperation. Programs include: School-based peace education initiatives Community peace forums and dialogue sessions Youth engagement and leadership for peace Violence prevention and social inclusion activities

Education & Learning Support

Through partnerships with schools, churches, and community organizations, Unitas of Jamaica supports access to quality learning opportunities that promote personal growth and community responsibility. Our education services include: School-based programs and workshops Teacher and youth leader support Digital and community learning initiatives Values-based education and life-skills development
